Full Swing Golf made its Malaysian debut at the European and Asian Tour's co-sanctioned Malaysian Open 2006 and proved to be a huge hit with local golfing fans.
Title sponsor and leading Malaysian banking institution, Maybank, chose the Full Swing simulator to be the focal point of the tournament's exhibition village, allowing members of the public to test their golfing skills on the nearest the pin and longest drive challenges.
The competition proper was reserved for Maybankard members, with the many participants able to use their credit card points to redeem prizes at special prices.
Keni Kamaludin, Assistant Vice President, Head Member Benefits, Maybank Cards Business Group, valued Full Swing's inclusion at the event:
"The Full Swing Golf simulator was a great addition to the Maybank Malaysian Open 2006 and allowed us to give something back to the many fans who visited the event. The accuracy and playability of the simulator enabled us to run a successful tournament for our cardmembers and the popularity of Full Swing Golf was shown by the large crowds it attracted throughout the four days. We will definitely work with Concept Golf and Full Swing Golf again at future events."
In addition to the general public's use, Maybank also used it to host corporate clinics for their VIPs, with professionals such as Padraig Harrington demonstrating an array of shot making capabilities on the Full Swing Golf simulator.
The Full Swing Golf simulator is set to return to the Malaysian Open at Saujana G&CC in February 2007.
Shortly after the Malaysian Open, spectators at the OSIM Singapore Masters were able to test their skills on the Full Swing Golf simulator installed at Laguna G&CC. Throughout the four days of the tournament, hundreds of golfers pitted their skills on the Full Swing Golf unit in an attempt to win prizes donated by Taylormade, whose products were on display and available for trial.
With its situation close to the driving range, the simulator also attracted a number of playing professionals who used the interactive practice facility in conjunction with their warm up routines. With instant and accurate shot feedback, the simulator provides an alternative practice facility, particularly useful when the driving range is full or when inclement weather forces its closure.
Concept Golf is able to supply a complete Full Swing Golf rental package to any professional, amateur and corporate event in the region.
