Full Swing Golf had a total of six simulators at the Orlando PGA Expo this January. Their own stand had 3 units on show, with the others being used by equipment manufacturers, and as entertainment at the bars and restaurants dotted around the enormous Orlando Convention Centre.
The Full Swing stand was the largest of its kind at the show, dominating the golf technology and simulation sector, and pulling in huge crowds of visitors, buyers and fascinated members of the public alike.
Full Swing not only had their latest specification simulators on display, but were also able to show their new video capture and swing analysis module in operation for demonstration purposes. With cameras mounted flush with the internal walls of the simulator, and with a sophisticated video capture/microphone arrangement, the golfers last 6 swings can be captured and displayed on an interactive touchscreen. At a touch of a button the golfer can review any of his last 6 swings, with full control over the replay - pause, frame by frame advance or rewind, loop etc. At the further touch of a button the golfer can boot up the built-in coaching software allowing for total control of the replay including drawing lines or shapes over the golfer as reference points.
Full Swing also showed the progress they were making with their development of the first true on-line gaming system for golf simulators. Officially set for release later this year or early next year, the Full Swing on-line gaming software will allow for all Full Swing systems around the world to play against each other in private or public tournaments. Full Swing is also planning a global indoor tour throughout the year allowing all players to take part in the fun and competition.
The on-line gaming software will also allow for Full Swing users to capture their scores and statistics from 6 rounds of golf in order to be awarded an indoor handicap. Players will then be able to use this handicap whenever they compete in on-line tournaments, competitions, or even when playing against friends off-line.
The Full Swing Golf on-line gaming and handicapping system will be exclusive to Full Swing and their users around the world. Other manufacturers may promise that they are also developing their own system, but with over 3,100 Full Swing systems in use in over 50 countries around the world, no other manufacturer will be able to offer the excitement, awareness and involvement of so many users.
The Orlando Expo was another great success for Full Swing both in the US and for all the global distributors. With a whole range of further exciting advances set to be released in the coming year, everyone is already hugely excited about the Orlando Expo 2005. We look forward to seeing you all there again next time!
